I didn't write my Australia Day post yesterday as I was very busy at a party. Yes Amanda, I went to a party and stayed out late on a school night!
Anyway that must be the first time I've worked on Australia Day instead of having a bbq somewhere. But the Aussies at school pulled together a very Aussie morning tea with lamingtons and vegemite and tim tams etc. Yum!
I got to wear the lovely (?) Australian scarf that was a farewell present from the Wanniassa crowd, and hang up the big Australian flag that they also gave me. They must have known it would come in handy eventually. Thanks guys :-)
And the party, well it actually wasn't an Australia Day party. It was Aylish's birthday but it was lots of fun and there were lots of Aussies - I even met another teacher who grew up in Cooma! What a small world!
